Scientific and technical monitoring

Research activities prioritize subjects that provide scientific elements necessary for conservation initiatives. Inventories and ecological monitoring make it possible to regularly assess the relevance of the management measures implemented.

This study work is mainly concentrated in the Baux valley where our teams have been collecting data since 1998, and since 2008 in the Courmettes area (in the Nice high country).

A Rocha France also participates in various regional and national research and monitoring projects, in particular:

  • Bird Ringing and Temporal Monitoring of Common Birds with the Natural History Museum,
  • Winter waterbird counting with Wetlands International,
  • Regional bird atlas and various national surveys with the LPO and the CEEP.

All of our action is largely supported by the participation of numerous friends, volunteers and interns, for whom we provide technical training and field supervision.
